MAIN RULES
These rules are the same, bland, straight forwards ones that are always shoved down your throat time after time and, once again, will be spoon fed to you like the bitter, distasteful medicine it is.
- Respect others, be they regular members of staff, no one is any better than anyone else and thus should be treated as equals.
Unless you're an Oompa Loompa, then you rock. Just sayin'.- Considering the above, flaming is quite obviously out of the question and will not be tolerated. At all. Really, unless you're an arsonist, there's no reason for you to play with fire like that. You're just gonna get burned to the 3rd degree.
- What goes around comes around, respond to other peoples posts, messages, role plays, whatever, and they are far more likely to do the same for you. On the same lines, treat others the way you wish to be treated. I know we're not kindergartners, so so don't make me give you time-outs. Time-outs are no fun.
- No spamming in the c-box or double/triple posting, this includes doing short posts IC. We all occasionally have the dreaded writers block, and are unable to do lengthy posts, but you should still make your posts at least 2 well made paragraphs that give other people something to respond to. Another good guideline to follow is a 200+ word count. When in doubt, write it out!
- As a courtesy to other players, particularly those you are RPing with, if you know you are going to be away for a while (days, weeks, whatever), please try to inform them and us by posting in the appropriate thread. Failing to post in activity checks without informing us of your absence will result in loss of face claim and archived characters. No one wants to do more work than is needed, so let us know!
- No powerplaying or god-modding. No one has a 100% hit ratio, 100% dodge rate, nor infinite magic. Sometimes your character is going to win, and sometime your character is going to lose. Accept it, move on and keep in mind that this is all for fun. Remember, no one in manga, if they wish to live long, uses their strongest attack on the first strike. They underestimate their opponent's strength, not wishing to use up too much power in one go and gradually get stronger, the shift of power between the two combatants going from one to the other. Make it into a fight people want to read!
- Gary Stews and Mary Sues are discouraged. No one is perfect, and as such characters have flaws as well. Please keep that in mind while creating a character. We all know how handsome/pretty each of you want to be with a flock of minions to take over the world by, but leave perfection for the staff.
- It's okay to debate with staff, but know when to quit. After all, staff word is law. Feel free to make your case, but after a certain point it's just 'beating a dead horse', as the sadistic man says.
- No cheating, in any way, shape or form. We staff, as RPers ourselves, are aware of the little loopholes each of us uses to bypass 'working for your wages' as I like to say. Be nice and fair, or you just might get the custom title 'does not play well with others'~
- Don't go overboard with the swearing. Saying it to give off a certain feeling every once in a while is fine, but having every second word being a curse word is obviously not. Should we find there is a problem with it, we'll gently remind you.
- Sexual content doesn't belong on the forum. Period. If a thread starts getting too risque, then simply continue it somewhere private. Remember, keep it PG-13. IM is a good place to continue those sorts of threads. Don't use this forum, even PMs, for that sort of thing.
